Joachim - Woodworker

My design is influenced by my family's boatbuilding past and my engineering background. I try to find new and unusual forms to create intriguing pieces. I work mainly but not exclusively in wood and draw on modern manufacturing processes and traditional techniques to produce the pieces.

I have developed a new composite lighting material, 'GLOgrain' which allows light to permeate the grain of a real wood veneer. This gives out a uniquely warm glow which can be enhanced by decorative engraving, shadow masking or printing.
