Mhairi - Designer

Mhairi’s work is predominantly influenced by performative design, and the notion of ritual, and adornment in everyday living. The inspiration for this collection is an ongoing relationship with the Scottish coastal communities of Cromarty and Easdale Island. The textures, colours, form and function of the collection are a direct response to the ever- changing coastline and it’s rearrangement and removal by surrounding tidal activity.

Both communities have experienced some level of reinvention and regeneration over the course of their history. Their adaptation heavily influenced the function of the wearable range.

Each piece can be worn in a number of different ways, allowing greater flexibility for the wearer, without sacrificing comfort, style or function.
