Glyn - Photographer - Longniddry

Originally from Kent, Glyn has lived near Edinburgh and worked throughout Scotland for the last 25 years. His heart is firmly rooted in the Scottish Highlands, and much of his best work has been inspired by the landscape and people there. He has an empathy with the land and an affinity with those who work on it, resulting in photographs which are both dramatic and eloquent. Glyn’s work has been exhibited throughout the UK and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery now own several Satterley images.

Glyn is an experienced and versatile professional, with a Fine Art background. He first earned a reputation for his striking and very personal black and white images of Scotland, and a collection of the very best of these Satterley prints are galleried here. In the sensitivity of those candid shots it’s easy to see that the Scottish Highlands is one of Glyn Satterley’s favourite places to be.

Meanwhile, his commissioned work, primarily in colour, features in books and magazines, and covers a wide range of clients including golf clubs, property agents, hotels and corporate groups. However, alongside this commercial work, Glyn Satterley has always found time to expand his portfolio of black and white studies.

So we are all extremely happy that Glyn, having taking his degree in Fine Art from Ravensbourne College, decided to pursue his love for photography rather than painting. The Glyn Satterley signature work, as seen here, is beautifully compelling and captures evocative glimpses of Scotland that few have the opportunity to see, far less the artistry to record.
